What is a comfort zone?
Do you know about your comfort zone? Well, it is a” situation where one feels safe or at ease”. Simply is a mindset or a setup placed by a person in which he or she can achieve a desired result with the minimum effort, lessor anxiety and at the lowest risk. Your mind allows you to work within this capacity, so you don’t want to be bothered by any new or a difficult tasks and challenges, still have the happiness of life.
But if you only do what is easy and safe, you cannot move forward in your life. Do not take your life as gifted. Instead, live your life to the fullest. Only by walking openly and acting wisely in the face of challenges can a person truly understand his inner self. When you accept the challenges without running over you can find many ways to overcome these challenges.
Why not we take a single step towards the better in life? Each small step forward will take to the greatest achievements in your life.
Why a Comfort Zone?
Our mindset has a default setup of a human in nature not to get anxiety, stress, or any kind of pressure; our brains ignore such difficult emotions and keep going towards more secure and easy things in life. But if you really need success in your life and want to make your dreams a reality, you have to think outside the box. Whatever the decisions you made in the past and your actions, reactions, habits, attitudes.
For example, you didn’t have your driver’s license by the age of 18 because you were too lazy to go to driving school. And then you get a reason every minute that you are busy with many other tasks. But even after decades, you won’t get that, and you may have been hiring a driver to use your own car.
What happens when you get out of Comfort Zone?
When your mind is ready enough to leave that safe, feeling, controllable environment, you will be entering a phase where you find many excuses and constantly think about others’ opinions, which is called a fear zone. This is totally due to lack of self-confidence and motivation.
If you are courageous enough, brave enough and tactful, once you come across this fear which is self-driven and originates within your mind and always pulls back, believe me the results will be mined blown.
How? The answer is to learn how to expand your comfort zone from your small territory to a larger arena. Continuous learning is the key; everyday, find new ways to solve problems and face challenges to overcome weaknesses.
Start with small daily healthy habits such as getting off the bus two to three halts before and having a walk. What would expect? New people, new environment of health and maybe a little saving to the pocket.
Gradually, with a little improvement, you can make a huge difference within a reasonable time. But keep in mind that the results will be determined by how committed you are to making the small changes every day. Always remember the golden rule: “higher the risks, higher the rewards”.
Steps to step out of the Comfort Zone
01. SWOT analysis
You may be familiar with what a swot analysis is and how it works in business. We can apply the same theory to your life as well. Why? Remember, success is a long journey. Before going on a long journey, you need to carefully analyze what the path is like and know the features of your Porsche.
SWOT – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.
Strengths are the positive factors/ characteristics that you own by yourself. Once you know your special skills you can improve them furthermore for taking more advantages.
Weaknesses are the features that might bring you down or your abilities that does not add much value to the ultimate results. You can focus on improving such points as you know clearly at what point you can fail and what is it.
Opportunities are factors that can lead to new winning adventures in the outside world. which you can utilize for the most benefit in your life.
Threats can come from both within your own life and from the outside world. You might wonder how external factors can affect your dreams.
02.Write down the dreams
The most successful way to achieve a dream is to write it down. When you write down a dream, you fix your dream in a more visual manner.
There are a lot of benefits when you write down your dream or dreams. After you write it down, you can specify the exact thing you want to achieve. When the goal is more specific and clearer, it is easier to focus all of one’s energy on achieving the big goal.
03. Write an Action plan
An action plan specifies the ways you can reach your ultimate destination. List out the paths available to reach your destination; each path will have its own pros and cons. Now you can choose the most effective and reliable path to follow. Then break this whole plan into small steps. Each minor task will not place a significant burden or stress on you. So, the journey would be smooth.
04. Activate the plan
There is no use in it if you just stop after the above two steps. The most important step is activating the plan without letting it become another unachieved dream of yours. Gather all of your positive energy and release it toward the target. Prepare the mind and body towards achieving the action plan.
05. Start simple
Naturally, no one wants to be engaged in difficult tasks. Same as more complex ones would not be a good choice. Make sure that the start would be as much as simple.
For example, if your doctor has advised you to lose ten kilograms but you are a true food lover, you can drink a full glass of water before every meal without depriving yourself. The amount of food consumed per meal will be reduced. Thereafter, you can gradually increase the efforts or the steps taken at one time.
Remember, you always need to be consistent with the simple step followed as previously described. “If you can consistently follow up on one simple step for 21 days, it will automatically become a habit,” says a physiological fact. Use this method to create positive habits in your life.
Ex: If you are a part-time student with law grades but wish to graduate with the highest marks.
Just make a morning routine and start waking up an hour earlier. You might find it difficult to wake up one hour earlier tomorrow. Remember, always start simple. You can start with fifteen minutes for several days. Once you are comfortable with that, add another fifteen minutes to that. Likewise, you can gradually increase the time up to the required level. Now that your biological clock is ready for waking up an hour earlier.
07. Find ways to cope with the stress, along the journey make it fun or game.
Sometimes, change is the most difficult feeling I ever met with. Probably you also find the same way. Changing something from your usual way will create stress in you. It is normal. Finding your very own method to deal with this stress will bring you the necessary courage throughout this long journey towards success.
Take your journey of getting out of your comfort zone as a game. Make it a joyful thing; when you achieve one target or step in the plan, give yourself a reward. A worthwhile reward will have a positive impact on the next step.
External factors are important same as the internal factors. Make sure that the environment you are in and the people who are in your closer circle are match with your purposes. Immediate personal who you are living with can make a huge influence in your life even without your notice. Therefore, make sure you filled your surrounding with positive vibes.
Have you ever seen a group of birds flying in a V shape in the sky? While the leader bird is directing the entire group, the other birds are getting a nap, and they are using one wing during long travel between continents. Similarly, there are a lot of benefits you can achieve when you are with people who have similar expectations.
09. Remember, this is a journey. Don’t give up after one achievement.
This life is a very long journey; therefore, remember that this is not the final destination; you need to continuously grow in order to glow. We believe that through this time you have achieved a lot, but there is more to come. The world is always changing at breakneck speed. Every day you would face challenges in your life. Same way, your comfort zone also will be changed. Remember to familiarize yourself with the current scenarios. And adjust your boundaries for defining the comfortable zone.
